  時間推著人前進，有時不是忘了，只是被推擠到記憶的角落抽屜裡。 有一天，那個抽屜又被打開，思緒翻飛出來。 近日看到高教系統某校長騎驢找馬的報導，我也曾在類似的地方工作了14年，好多博士，但不妨礙我看盡醜惡的人性面。 記得剛進去時碰到的一位助理教授兼行政主管： 1.房子買在高美館周遭，但跟我說都搭電梯從車庫開車進出，住了多年，路對面的公園只去過兩次。 2.他在職員甄試中,內定一個別單位主管推薦的人進來，工作能力相當堪慮，惹了許多禍事，大家跟著一起收拾。我甚至覺得別單位主管是推薦來陷害人的。內定很糟糕，有人一大早從花蓮坐火車來，但他不知自己只是來陪考的。 3.承上，主管自己也受不了，常對那位內定的人飆髒話，我常聽得頭皮發麻。有天主管對內定的人說:你嘴巴很臭，是不是身體有問題？要不要去找醫生檢查一下？這事印象很深，因主管自己口臭也很嚴重，我很怕他說話時靠太近。 4.有天，快下班前，內定之人又出事。主管大吼:馬的，你滾開啦！我來弄就好。於是他接管了內定之人的電腦。後來是我接手處理好的，沒報加班。 ...... 罄竹難書！ 有些人的醜惡面因往上爬控制了資源，更顯狰獰，以致於爬愈高，嘴臉愈醜惡。...

  突然想起，年輕時在一個6人小公司工作過近5個月。老闆很臭屁，覺得自身英、日語俱佳，是不可多得的人才。有次會議中又開始自我陶醉，大意是:他之前工作的廠區，有次同時有美國團與日本團來參觀，他一下用英語、一下用日語說明，於是有人跟他同事讚嘆「哇，你們公司竟有這麼一號人物！」。接著說:你們知道嗎，人就在這種「進退維谷」的時候...... 之後說什麼我已記不得，知道他把「進退維谷」理解成人生的精采時刻，心裡「蛤」了好大一聲。或許他英、日語能應付一下，但華語不行啊！ 小公司沒什麼程序，有一天我跟老闆說我不幹了，隔天就沒再進辦公室。
