Twelve years ago, to the day, I sat in this pub with a pint, and scribbled nonsense. Some of you liked it, so twelve years on, I'm still at it. No cake or candles this year, I'm in the cinema viewing the new releases for tomorrow. Thank you all, you're why I do this.

@ianRobinson@mastodon.social @stuart@sozial.cyberpunk.gmbh I will keep it in mind when I do get round to pulling the trigger, thanks Stuart :) Part of the problem is I don't know what I want it to do, serve as a non-social media archive, sure, but what else, I have no clue.

@ianRobinson@mastodon.social Had a Wordpress site years ago, managed to break it. When I do pull the trigger on the site, I will need an actually competent adult on call.

@ianRobinson@mastodon.social "Always" is something I can't answer without going to the history books... But from the year 2000 I know they've been used. Generally in children's films, Goat and Hoppers were both weekend previews if memory serves. EPiC had a week long format limit/preview before general release. And, How To Make A Killing releases on Wednesday instead of Friday this week. Advanced starts, Wednesday and Thursday opens and some previews were used to 'ju...

@ianRobinson@mastodon.social Not a fan of the studio limiting the screenings to up the average though.

@ianRobinson@mastodon.social You write, I sometimes put out something that may be taken to be writing, would you ever put Wikipedia in an official bio? If I have to read "coded as Islamic" one more time from someone who claims to have read the books, I will scream. You mean to tell me the people who undertake "hajj", lead a "jihad", and have a "mahdi" are coded as Islamic? No shit, Sherlock. "She's a GI Jane girlboss", really? Tell me all t...

@troi@techhub.social @ianRobinson@mastodon.social Your contrast of Minbari and Narn religious representation puzzles me given the depicted canon. Delenn, and the Minbari religious representatives in general, are only shown as being correct in reference to a scientific stable time loop, whereas the most negative portrayals of religion come from outside causality. Even the notion of Minbari religion is influenced by the Vorlon method of control of the younger races, whereas after their departu...

@ianRobinson@mastodon.social And the day was going so well... I suppose I needed something to get annoyed with... Anyone who has a bio claiming they write Wikipedia articles can easily be dismissed.

Apologies for the lateness, and the midnight turnover for UK readers, it was a mix of laziness and bullshit in equal measure.
