A question to the Fediverse about that old favourite topic: federation! I wrote this post on Pixelfed the other day: https://pixey.org/p/bammerlaan/978063577283062656 If I look at it through Mastodon, from this account, I think I see all of the replies. Among others, there's one from someone asking for details about zips and buttons, and someone asking where I got the sewing pattern. I replied to both of them using my Mastodon account. I then replied to one of my own replies with photos an...

@_elena@mastodon.social *Very* frustrating that this is something that needs to be dispelled in the first place. The Fediverse should be the EU's primary social media platform. W Social is muddying the waters (and suggesting there aren't any European social networks at the moment is infuriating).

I have written a sample letter that you can use to invite organizations to join the #Fediverse. The letter is shared under a #CC0 license. Feel free to copy, adapt and send it to organizations that still rely on #BigTech. Thanks to @danie1 for the English translation. Replies to this post will also appear as comments under the blog post. https://bammerlaan.nl/posts/Example_letter_Fediverse #OpenSource #SocialMedia #mastodon #decentralisation #PublicSpaces #x #threads #bluesky #DigitalSovere...

@moshidon I've been seeing more activity on #Moshidon the last few days, with updates to the nightlies coming out quite frequently. Very exciting, I'm looking forward to see the new rebuilt version! It's easily my favourite #Mastodon client, not in the least because of its hashtag-based timelines. I wrote a blog about it not so long ago: https://bammerlaan.nl/posts/Using-hashtags-Mastodon #MastodonClient #Android #Apps

Trying to learn how to #crochet. It's still very confusing to me what holes to put the crochet needle into, how to count chains, what the ...anatomy of the chains and loops and all that jazz is. But we persevere 💪 I'm open to suggestions for good videos or articles to teach the basics. I'm still struggling through the single crochet, now. #FiberArts

@Mastodon You know what would be nice? To have #Plushtodon as a sewing pattern on Freesewing.org! There's already a couple of plushie patterns there, I made one just the other day. #sewing #freesewing #mastodon @freesewing

Made a new recording yesterday of #Rautavaara's O ihr Zärtlichen, for an audition. Trying out my recording gear, I used #Ardour as my DAW for recording and mixing, and #Shotcut for editing the video. Turned out quite well, I must say, though I do want to move a bit more, next time 🙈 You live and you learn... https://makertube.net/w/9MjKcPWUetYYMnNYhERtcg #ClassicalSinging #Singing #Music #Baritone #ProfessionalSinging #Recording
