@Sadsquatch@mastodon.social if I find a restaurant's address on Facebook I exfiltrate it to #OpenStreetMap so at least them and #CoMaps have it, and it's in a structure I know we're not allowed to copy from other maps but I figure the restaurant's official Facebook counts as their own website

Is #Pleroma good? I need to admin a small social media instance for say 10 non-techie people so we can publish photos and text posts. Just for outreach and reminders and event flyers Mastodon looks heavier and I want something #ActivityPub so it can syndicate across the #Fediverse and bridge to BlueSky (I don't want to run a BS directly if I can help it)

Next time I'm applying for jobs I might just send a resume with my contact info and "Details on request". Fill that point on the Pareto frontier, you know. 1. It's not AI slop 2. It's honest 3. It would allow me to apply to lots of jobs instead of struggling to apply to one per day And honestly, people don't read. People don't read because 99% of written material is not worth reading - Ads, shampoo bottles (which are ads for themselves)

How do I design and 3D print a chassis for something? I got a panel of rocker switches and hooked it up to a USB joystick encoder so now I have a little control panel for my computer. I want to put that switch panel and PCB into a nice chassis, but I don't know much about design and I would like something 'cuter' than a plain project box. Should I print for this? Where can I learn how to design that? #AskFedi #3dPrinting

@unixviking I'm open to advice to get better turnout. America is very atomized. People don't know their neighbors. The system is designed to prevent strong communities from forming. We are doing our best in my town. If you see any levers to pull, please advise. More outreach? Door knocking?

Me: "I wonder how many lines of code this repo is?" The evil voice in my head: "Try to find a file that's not part of the build system. If you can't find the code, it's too big to contribute to."

Please boost, people need to hear this! Just found out there is a Ford brand "dealership" 🙄 in our town. Look at the picture - The cars are packed in so tight that they can barely move. Some of the cars have their side mirrors tucked in - Cars only do that when they are very distressed. In the wild, cars roam offroad and a single car can have thousands of square miles of territory to itself. But these corporations keep them in cities... 🧵

@mwichary@mastodon.online Yes! There is a simulation of CRT gun scanning, intended for extra realism at high-FPS displays like 480 Hz https://blurbusters.com/crt-simulation-in-a-gpu-shader-looks-better-than-bfi/ Found with the keyword "CRT phosphor simulation"
