  Random thought: People always say "Don't use optical media for archives, it won't last and degrades!" - and I say: pah! Humbug! What is true however: No matter what format you chose, chances are very high that you won't find a working drive to read it after a few years. I'm facing the issue of my BD-writer failing and there seems to be no new drives out there already. Go look for "internal BD Writer"... it's pathetic. #...

  A few words on the € 💸 update... Back when the Euro was introduced, the question of the design of course was discussed in public quite a bit. I vividly remember people asking "why not have people on them like usual"? And the reply was IMHO a reasanable "we want to show the union of Europe and avoid depicting people, who natrually, can be seen as a national symbol of their country and took bridges as a way to symbolize the coming together..." and now they are back to mugsho...
