What's with PHP "content creators" and the willingness to use slop images in their projects? Is it slop all the way down?

TIL about this weird GNU cp syntax to copy a directory while renaming it without the normal "copy into target if it's a directory" behaviour https://unix.stackexchange.com/a/412262 cp -r /src/foo/. /dest/bar

RE: https://mastodon.social/@gvwilson/116997366488785600 Radium was also useful. Sometimes the usefulness of something is inseparable from its harm. This is not an academic debate about how we might incorporate a theoretical technology and what tradeoffs we would accept. We are responding in real time as the harms are inflicted on us. You do not, under any circumstances, have to hand it to 'em.

Any AI-free Godot knowers out there looking for a project? A friend of mine is in the middle of a game buildout and parted ways with her dev because of a difference in opinion on AI slop. She's hoping to partner with someone else to get it finished. General theme is "cosy looking farm sim with a weird twist." This would be a revenue share rather than a paid gig. If this sounds like your jam, I can put you in touch.

For unknown reasons, your phone suddenly becomes immobile and indestructible, an object fixed in space relative to its surroundings. (i.e. to a local observer, it's stuck in place.) How screwed are you, and how hard will it be to use your phone in the future?
