Here's a phrase probably never before committed to paper or keyboard: "weird, I must have Berenstain Bear-ed d'Iberville." Somehow, I was certain the Montreal street, metro station, and the eponymous French colonist/soldier/merchant were all "d'Ilberville".

Just witnessed an absolute legend - she got on the metro at Jean-Talon with two loaves of sliced bread, sat down, put on a pair of dark sunglasses, and consumed both loaves before we even got to Laurier.

I just read up on Jirayr Zorthian. Wow. I was probably 7 or 8 years old when I attended the art camp at the ranch. What I remember was livestock wandering around, sculptures reminiscent of Simon Rodia's Watts Towers, making sand-cast candles, and being given a jar of honey from the hives they kept (because I got stung by a bee while swimming). We also got root beer at snack time, which was a big treat for me, since my parents were health-food people and we very rarely got soda.

We used to spend a lot of time coming up with film double-features as a thought experiment. It's interesting to think of theme nights, like "The Warriors" with "Rumblefish" or "Night of the Condor" with "Medium Cool". Now I'm thinking the book equivalent. It's not as easy, because they're not a single sitting. My first suggestion: _Amatka_ by Karin Tidbeck along with _The Naming Song_ by Jedd...

I was in a real crunch, and I was weak. I used AI to generate the documentation for an API I'd just written. And I was pressed for time, so I only looked over it briefly before sending it out. Now I get to implement all the endpoints and parameters it "hallucinated." Time saved on documentation: 1~2 hours. Time lost to implementing and testing spurious features: 4~6 hours. #LessonLearned

A European Starling just few into the office’s plate-glass window at full speed, chased by a crow. The crow was approaching the inert bird, and I went out and scared it off. After about 15 minutes, the starling recovered enough to fly away. I’m not sure what was going on. Was the crow intentionally chasing the starling into the building as a means of predation? The windows are tinted, and look very solid from outside (not reflecting the sky).
