Al & Val's Modern Homesteading

alandvalonline@mastodon.social

We're building our own Modern Homestead, learning as we go. We're Alan and Valantine, an older couple exploring modern homesteading and self-sufficiency. We began our journey in upstate New York back in June of 2022 https://www.youtube.com/@alvalonline

We tried Aldi a few times. I DO like it because it's just a small store with a few aisles and almost nothing but food. But there isn't much value in something you can't or won't eat after you've purchased it.

‪Our latest #homestead #video lays out the realities of living the life once you've built your dream. I was looking at an article image comparing Jimmy Carter to Trump. And it suddenly occured to me why I thought trump's face looked familiar. His eyes look identical to every Down's Syndrom child I've ever seen. I think he was 1/2 a chromosome away from being an actual caring human being.

@georgetakei@universeodon.com The show was ONLY Star Trek when the entire cast was participating. There is no such thing as a Star Trek without the entire crew. It felt as much an exploration of the human heart, mind and soul as it was other worlds.

We're pausing our Off-Grid Solar Series and instead, will have a video out that addresses the huge interest (and fear) in moving to grid-tied or off-grid power. We're living proof it can be done. If you think you'd like to see this, or know someone considering grid-tied or off-grid power, then share it with them. And get over to our YouTube channel and SUBSCRIBE so you don't miss ANY of our videos. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCf7Z-F71hJgqV7JCQX-1AVA #Yo...

IF YOU WATCH THIS, COMMENT ON IT ON YOUTUBE! It HELPS! Our newest video is out and starting off pretty great! We go into the sudden huge rise in costs for almost everything we depend on today. And if it makes sense to think about using solar energy to help mitigate some of that expense, or ALL of it. We show you 3 ways to make the move. Small steps to big leap. However you're most comfortable, we've got you covered! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gsur-IZkvsU #youtube #s...
