I watch local news for the weather and I've noticed something about the political ads that are ramping up. The Republican candidates are frequently not mentioning their party affiliation but are running on banning members of Congress from trading stocks, because corruption! With no mention of the Corrupter-in-Chief, or Congress's role in reining him in 🙄

The credulousness of the news media about this current round of AI hype is just boggling.

I've decided I'm going to win the Powerball tonight and buy one of the cat islands in Japan. Nobody else play tonight, ok?

I had a lot of scrap yarn to use up and a disintegrating hoodie and things got a bit out of hand. #crochet #visiblemending

It is apparently Enby Day, Portfolio Day, and Orca Day. I hope that somewhere there is an enby showing an orca their portfolio. I hope the orca is making approving noises.

If there's a need for the data center, it will be profitable and won't need IDA help. If it isn't (spoiler: it isn't) then there's no point in building it. https://www.newsday.com/long-island/politics/yaphank-digital-data-center-brookhaven-xkomoycy

I think I need to go talk to some humans pretty soon. I just yelled at a bear for only partially eating a fish: "C'MON! What are you doing?! There's plenty left on that!" https://explore.org/livecams/brown-bears/brown-bear-salmon-cam-brooks-falls

Question for #journalism types on here: who would you agree with in this exchange?

Unboosted that post about palantirwatch.org because the links don't go anywhere. There will be some kind of claim made, there's a link to what you would think would be the claim's source, but it's not, it's just to a homepage. For example, there's a claim that there's an active contract US Army - Gotham Analytics for $823 m. But the link is just to the Army's homepage. And so on. It's all like that. I should not boost stuff early in the morning #meaCulpa

Awhile back, some kind soul posted a site where you can stream TV channels from all over the world. I opened it in a tab, but neglected to bookmark it, and now it's gone in a browser update :-( does anyone remember this site? and have the link? #watch_tv #watch_tv_online

There was a lot of yelling and scuffling noises so I went to investigate and found Little Miss Innocent looking up at me like "what?" #caturday #catsOfMastodon

RE: https://social.seattle.wa.us/@ohmu/116285798647123380 On the one hand, this is nice. OTOH, I played on a boy's Little League team 45 years ago because I didn't want to throw underhand like in softball. I wanted to throw overhand. Nobody thought it was a big deal except for one kid on an opposing team who was scandalized by the presence of a girl. I smacked a stand-up double over his head and he shut right the fuck up.

Now put that together with the "NYPD getting hit with snowballs in Washington Square" story and see how that feels. Hits a bit different now? https://m.ai6yr.org/@exador23/116138044834307470

@virtuous_sloth@cosocial.ca reporting back: 👍🏽 I used 1 egg, 1/2 cup milk + 1/4 tsp each garlic powder, paprika, and mustard + pinch of sea salt, fried in butter. Delicious, and I was too hungry to stop for ketchup or anything.

My first foray into embroidery, courtesy of a beginners kit from the local library! I was inspired by @NorcalGma2@sfba.social 😁 I like making the leaf stitches the best. #embroidery
