  Replacing the firmware on other phones might be harder due to secure boot restrictions, but it is likely that some design flaws exist which make it possible to circumvent those. Right now, the next feature on my list is the sensor hub, which is implemented by an RTOS running on a generic Cortex-M33 core that is also responsible for GNSS and power management. I have also been experiencing some problems with WiFi that could perhaps be fixed more easily if the firmware were open-source. 2/4

  Recently I've been porting the #Unisoc ISP to #libcamera. AF is not supported yet, so I have to move the lens manually using v4l2-ctl. But debayering, AGC/AEC, AWB and color correction are already working. Code: https://codeberg.org/ums9230-mainline/libcamera/ #ShotOnJollaC2 #MainlineLinux
