What a way to miscommunicate your meaning. ...or maybe she said exactly what she meant?

#USPOL #TruthDrops #InconvenientFacts Look, let's face it: Both parties are cesspools of corruption and lies. Which lies you choose to believe and which lies you choose to ignore indicate the kind of human you really are.

Been working at locations on Detroit's East side this week. Last week when these were assigned I was a little put off by the driving distance from the house. Today I'm glad for it. Woke up this morning and turned on the news, and it seems, somehow, all the "issues" in the city (car accidents, shootings, etc) occurred on the West side overnight, which hopefully means I (hopefully) won't need to play traffic games to get to the work location. Of course, I wish people woul...

@HopelessDemigod Ouch. For $14 (for two eggs, toast, and bacon) I'll cook it myself.. and buy earplugs to drown out the sound of my wife screaming, "THIS IS MY KITCHEN! YOU'RE NOT SUPPOSED TO BE IN HERE!"

This week was a bit of a clusterfuck. I still got paid to work, so that's a good thing, but a clusterfuck nonetheless. Customer wanted fiber run from one building to an outbuilding. They had conduit all laid out and buried, pullstrings, that was all set. The path between the main datacenter in the main building and the MDU in the outbuilding was easy enough. Problem is, #Arista (who is going to be providing their switches when they do their network upgrade here soon) told them they ne...

The wife's work was throwing out a defective bluetooth barcode scanner. It wouldn't charge. (USB-C). She brought it home (with permission) to see if maybe I wanted to try to fix it. After cleaning the dust and lint out of the USB connector and replacing the battery, it works again. I think I'll be adding it to my toolbox for when I'm working on things that need to be inventoried.

Mastodon server upgraded - check. New CPUs installed in the server that's crashing due to machine check issues on CPU 1 - check. Migrated non-critical, yet CPU intensive, workloads to said server - check. Playing the waiting game to see if it decides to crash again - in progress.

In other news, the IC706 I had in the work truck is in drastic need of a tune-up/full alignment/etc.... Low power output on 40m, SWR pegs to infinity, even though the antenna system shows a decent SWR on the same band. Extremely low power output on 20m and 10m, but SWR reads correct. Anyone know of a good, reputable, fair repair shop that can do the alignment and repair what's broken? The rig is 25 years old, and has about 2 million miles on it between my POV and the Semi truck. It&am...

#HAMradio #antenna #fabrication #HFmobile My "Works on all bands 40 to 6m" antenna doesn't... At least not well. This is my solution. I fabricated a copper bracket to mount 40m and 20m hamsticks and a Wilson 5000 (tuned for 10m) so I don't have to play the quick disconnect game when I want to switch bands.
