When I was a kid I told my mom about something scary out the window. The didn’t believe me either. Turned out someone was on the side of the house stealing parts off some kind of electrical box. I don’t remember this. I was told about it later. I DO remember being afraid of windows until I was an adult.

The article says the installation is under warranty so they have to fix it/do it again. Sounds like they wasted a lot of their resources in a subpar installation.

I got a degree in development a few years ago and couldn’t find a job. There was nothing out there for a junior dev. I was persistent for about a year then, I just gave up. Now I work in Commercial Real Estate but I can see this industry is about to be decimated by AI also. They are slowly starting to figure it out and build AI tools that do their job.

A CSS framework that moves writing CSS into the html to make it stupidly long with annoyingly confusing class names. I might be biased though. I hate it.

I’m not saying she was right, but I will say, if I was flying from the United States to Mexico, I would be very confused if the flight crew only spoke Chinese.

Yes. And, I hate that everyone feels like they have to do this shit to pay for their lives. We cant just enjoy things anymore, it’s all monetized.

I just had my first reprimand and banning from a community for the first time in the 3 or so years I’ve been on Lemmy. I don’t regret it. I had no idea that Lemmy.ml believed the Uhygur genocide was a hoax. I decided to block all of Lemmy.ml as a result.

I never doubted science, but I just learned how Fluoride affects your teeth, and it’s incredible. I get that it can be harmful in large quantities, but I think if people understood what it actually does they might be less scared of it.

Wait, maybe let’s hear him out in this one. Commuting this fraud would disqualify them from office? So perhaps we should impeach them and remove them from office? Might I also suggest throwing them into a volcano just to be safe? I feel like we could goad Trump into leaving office by just telling him Obama was better base jumping or something and maybe he’d jump off a cliff on his own.

My car is constantly telling me to drive with both hands or yo get coffee when I am driving fine. Many years ago I had a somewhat scary car accident and since I drive very cautiously and never speed. Yet this fucking thing is still yelling at me all the time. If I could figure out how it decides to yell at me, I would unplug it.

Luckily for me, I was already running 64GB so now I’m down to 32GB. I can try to wait it out. -_- I don’t really need that much anyway, but I’m glad I had it when it was cheap

Firefox kept crashing on me a few days ago. Decided to run MemTest86 and sure enough. Bad RAM.

That explains this: [Meta to start capturing employee mouse movements, keystrokes for AI training data](https://www.reuters.com/sustainability/boards-policy-regulation/meta-start-capturing-employee-mouse-movements-keystrokes-ai-training-data-2026-04-21/)

    > The changes come as the company has experienced a 40X year-over-year increase in AI data stored on its servers and has increased focus on its accelerating AI business. If this means they just want to throttle AI companies, I don’t care. Go forth and prosper BackBlaze. If it doesn’t, statement retracted.

I was talking about dad music with my coworkers and one of them said Linkin Park also. Gotta say I did not expect that.

Reminds me of the guy on YouTube that let his goldfish pick stocks. (His goldfish outperformed r/WallStreetBets) Dr. Guinea Pig, can you explain quantum entanglement to me?
