Packing my DIY encryption prototypes for my workshop at @inselchaos@chaos.social. It's a fun tech-related topic that you can explore with low-tech materials. #inselchaos26 #InselChaos #inselchaos2026 #stemeducation #encryption #papercraft #FediLZ #stem #diy #diy_electronics

@VVoidCamp was really nice with lots of fun people around! Somehow, all my photos are light-up mushrooms from different angles 😅 — apparently, I didn’t take any other pictures. Huge thanks to everyone who worked hard to organize this amazing event. #vvoid2026 #diy #mushrooms #vvoidcamp #vvoidcamp2026

I made a video introduction to my work. If you haven’t seen any of my videos yet, this is the perfect place to start: https://youtu.be/JXGe0ZZCwLA #stem #stemeducation #fedilz #maker #makereducation #diy #papercircuit #papercraft

I realized that Google sends most traffic to my 'basics' page, which used to be the worst place to start exploring my site 😅, so I decided to make it awesome: https://www.voltpaperscissors.com/basics #stem #stemeducation #papercircuit #papercraft #fediLZ #diy #education #maker #makerspace #makereducation

I made a canard using my 3D pen on tissue paper technique. Canards have a small foreplane instead of a tailplane. The main wing is at the far back with a vertical stabilizer at the end. The foreplane is great for trimming the flight. It is a bit easier to trim since the center of mass is between the two wings. A regular wing configuration needs nose weight for a propper flight. But I am still experimenting and learning! #stemeducation #stem #mint #fediLZ #paperplane #rcplanes #diy #3dprinting

This toy designer was a genious: A wind-up toy that detects edges purely mechanically! Human intelligence beats Artificial Intelligence. #ai #aihype #noai #stemeducation #FediLZ #tech #mint

I am currently editing my video series about bristle bots. I am really happy to see how easy it is to tune them the way you want. #stem #stemeducation #mint #robotics #fediLZ #diy_electronics #diy #cardboardrobot #kids #makerspace

Here is a prototype I made (with Berlin spy museum in mind as future client). It's a simple DIY encryption device made using conuctive tape. Decrypting works like this: Rotate the paper disk into position, matching the encrypted letter to the black triangle. Then press the button provided with the encrypted letter. An LED will illuminate the decrypted letter. Encrypting works the same but reverse. How you make the connections is your "key". #stemeducation #mint #fe...

My last post got more than 1k boosts! Thanks everyone! 👉 I decided to share one of my paid resources here on Mastodon for free so that everyone can have a look at my educational paper circuit projects and how my workshop kits look. Feel free to download and/or #retoot These color-changing mushrooms are a fun party trick for grown-ups or an easy educational project for kids aged 7 and up. And here is the super secret download link :-) https://www.voltpaperscissors.com/secretdownloads #libraries...

Playing with my Solar Powered Spin Art Robot for kids :-) more colors are more fun but I need speed controling for the two motors to change the pattern. Currently the motors are running at full speed. 😎 #art #stem #robot #diy

I am prototyping paper airplanes usinge the idea of 3D-printing directly to thin paper and then cutting the parts for assembly. I also tried using a 3D-pen. Both ways work and the planes fly pretty well. Next up: bigger plane + supercap-motor unit. The idea is inspired by a recent video of Tom Stanton. #paperplanes #diy #stemeducation #mint #FediLZ #3dprint #3dprinting #PaperPlane #engineering #RCplanes

Ryan from Wonderfulidea.co adapted my EggBot Idea and made his own experiments. It is an interesting read and his book is a total recommendation: https://wonderfulidea.co/blog/2026/3/26/playing-with-voltpaperscissors-eggbot

RE: https://graphics.social/@inspirationgrid/116330185622143969 These paper sculptures are awesome. Would be cool to add fancy back lighting or even animated LEDs to that mix.

Happy Easter! I had a fun workshop painting eggs using my spinart robot. It worked pretty smooth. Using plastic eggs for training, then real eggs was a good idea. And after easter this machine can paint paper discs. More about this here: https://www.voltpaperscissors.com/spinartrobot Workshop was at MBP Schöneberg (Berlin library) #easter #eastereggs #stemeducation #arteducation #makerspace #maker #mastoart #creativetoots

A year ago, I saw someone open a book lamp in a bar. It was a pretty expensive product. Since I combine electronics and paper crafting, I had to DIY it and develop an easy-to-use circuit template and instructions for it. This educational project is perfect for libraries. Please #retoot :-) Template and instructions are available on my website: https://www.voltpaperscissors.com/diybooklamp. Feel free to ask any questions. #papercircuit #papercraft #diy #MINT #STEM
