  The best part is that this came from a community league chair who had been a city councillor 30ish years ago. Who also said something to the effect of "we knew approving all that sprawl was going to leave a big budget problem for a future council to solve, but you need to solve it more gradually."

  RE: https://mastodon.social/@trevortombe/116165713464534343 Great budget analysis, both on past and current governments, and grading against their own supposed plans and fiscal rules. It also makes me further question government priorities, as it seems that our real spending per person has really not budged since 2008 (under Ed Stelmach), yet services have deteriorated significantly.
