Climate change worsening is a given. I'm going to predict that the forecasted warming goes down thanks to Chinese production (like every year).

The Australian government will do nothing of note, because the scapegoating of the prime minister by the press wasted all of the government's political capital that they were saving up for some big swings. Combustion engine cars become basically irrelevant outside of the US, Canada, and EU. Because if a country doesn't have a domestic car industry then cheap Chinese ev's are just better. In Australia you can see quite a lot of them. For a big swing, I'm going with Trump dying....

Searching a large dataset with a vague search criteria. Real-time feedback when studying a foreign language (since accuracy is less important than quantity). Apparently in medicine they’re using generative AI for something meaningful, but I’m not entirely convinced it is actually generative AI and I’d need to do more research. Sometimes it can help in learning to program and in sanity-checking code security.

There's normally a reason when that assortment of countries chooses to abstain (the no voters are normally just evil). In this case it's likely the use of the word "gravest". I'd say the holocaust was worse, at least in the slave trade the people were just a means to an end. The holocaust involved torture by design and aimed to erase an entire religion. Others may disagree, but there's at least room for doubt on the declaration that it's the "gravest".

Linux builds suck, they're less well maintained than the Windows build. If Valve gave me the option to use Proton by default even when there is a native Linux build, I would enable that in a heartbeat.

If Windows 12 was just a Linux distro with Windows branding, it would probably be just as successful.

The first one refers to men. It can be inferred that the second one refers to women.

> Furthermore, social media promotes addiction through endless scrolling, which can impair brain development. I think this is the big one that's driving this push for age verification. The issue of YouTube, Twitter, Reddit, and Lemmy rotting kids brains has gotten measurable and significant. I think Gen Alpha is the first generation to end up less academically capable than their parents. The status quo is considered untenable by voters, politicians, and the Epstein class alike. Not to me...

He's adding age verification for the internet, not sending people to gas chambers. You really need to touch grass, urgently, because clearly your dependence on the internet is not healthy.

You can't put license conditions on LGPL code. Surprised you got 49 upvotes with nobody explaining that.

Other countries just do raw scores. Whether it's a good or bad score is up to a kid's imagination.

I'd have paid the fee for ad-free YouTube if it didn't also come with an (expensive) subscription to YouTube music. Nowadays though I don't want to give Google money for anything, even incidentally. I just use Ublock Origin.

In the case of email, security is more important than privacy. The country your provider is based in doesn't matter. Hypothetically if we were talking about something like a VPN, it would need to be a country which values privacy and which has a vaguely hostile attitude to America. I have no idea what country that would be.
