  You’re making an extremely dishonest comparison by lumping all deportation together. Border deportations are mostly a function of arrivals. Someone comes in, and gets denied. When they’re walking back across the border, that’s a deportation. You can make a LOT of laws, but you’re not likely to influence that much. Interior deportation is what people are bothered by.
