Catafalque I This one's for @Kitty@mastoart.social - one of those places I photograph every time I pass through it. I'm never fully happy with these photos, but I always enjoy the moments I'm there, l9okinh carefully and trying to capture my idea of it. Thank you too for the kind shout out. 😊 #photography #Mobilephotography #architecture #SilentSunday #Brisbane

The new Soft Vein album is out today, coincidentally enough on #BandcampFriday. I've enjoyed the last two singles so much I may have to buy it today without hearing the rest of the album. I am bending the rules for today's #TuneTuesday theme - songs with the word jump in them. The video to Happiness by Goldfrapp features a person jumping around in a street for about three and a half minutes, while various things happen around them.🕴 Beautifully set up, excellent editing to make it appear as if it's one take, and one barmy concept. #JumpUpAndDown https://youtu.be/mnHlGONToIc #Goldfrapp

RE: https://mastodon.online/@TG_Esq/116900543313857051 This album is also a reminder why we need artists who are producing art about the experiences of getting older. There's a lot of ageism in people's responses to music, as if the performers should strut around in their youth and vigour, singing about angst and sex, and go away when they begin to remind us that we all get old - if we're lucky. Happy Bloomsday to those who celebrate. "Like him was I, these sloping shoulders, this gracelessness. My childhood bends beside me. Too far for me to lay a hand there once or lightly. Mine is far and his secret as our eyes. Secrets, silent, stony sit in the dark palaces of both our hearts: secrets weary of their tyranny: tyrants, willing to be dethroned." I experienced something rare today: that thrilling feeling when you find something in a record shop that you've been looking for, for a long time. I found a copy of David Bowie's Station To Station album on CD. I have many (most?) of his other albums, but I never had a copy of this one. I saw it once about a year ago on vinyl, but I haven't seen it on CD for years. I thought I had left it too late to get my own copy, and now I probably never would. #DavidBowie #NowList...

You tooted something a few days ago about superpowers @TheBreadmonkey I think I've just found mine. None of this flying or mind reading or the other usual ones. Since I read about the Leaf sheep (or Sea sheep), I just want the ability to photosynthesise. Sure, you'd have green skin, but then you wouldn't need to worry about food or skin cancer. Just eat some salad to keep your chloroplasts up, and get outside with your shirt off. https://oceaninfo.com/animals/sea-she...

RE: https://mastodon.online/@TG_Esq/115975201781667601 Whelp, we did see Dappled Cities live again tonight, and they were fantastic. So tight, and a great setlist of some old favourites and new songs that they really brought to life live. Also a lot of fun in a small venue, where we could chat to the band members afterwards. This time it was with the offspring, who had three of their albums in the soundtrack to her teenage years. So good to see her enjoy it that much. #DappledCities #AusMusi...

#BandcampFriday is a good day to pre-order the new Dappled Cities album, The Aquarium. I'm tempted to get tickets to see them live when they tour soon. Only sixteen years since I first (last) saw them perform. 😳 https://dappled-cities.bandcamp.com/album/the-aquarium #DappledCities #AusMusic #OzMusic

Brian Eno's Nerve Net album on Bandcamp was listed for a while bundled with the My Squelchy Life album from the same period. I delayed getting it... and now it has been replaced by just the NN album with one bonus track. My own fault for waiting, I suppose. #BrianEno #MySquelchyLife #NerveNet #Bandcamp
