> I think that, while many LessWrong readers do believe that one party is way better than the other, such that the inter-party quality variation is far larger than the intra-party quality variation, this is not true of all readers. ... Wait is this about race and iq again? Anyway the math ain't mathing, as there never can be a republican above average enough to counterbalance out that they are an republican.

> Basically it’s really obvious that they don’t have a meaningful way to describe exactly what they want it to do and so they’re playing whack-a-mole with undesired behaviors in order to minimize how often it embarrasses them. The whole 'how many r's in strawberry' sort of stuff already made me suspect that, when the popular one was fixed and other attempts at asking for letters did still give the miscounts. Wonder of the goblin stuff is the start of some model collapse. And if...

New Yorker article on Sam Altman dropped. Aaron Swartz apparently called him a sociopath. The article itself also had wat looked like an animated AI generated image of Altman so here is the [archive.is link](https://archive.is/hOYMn) (if you can get the latter to load, I was having troubles). "New interviews and closely guarded documents shed light on the persistent doubts about the head of OpenAI."

> Our framing for superintelligence is a humanist superintelligence, and that means that there’s a very clear test that everyone should use to judge whether we are living up to our principles, and that is: does this technology make us all healthier, happier as a species, and keep us all in control. Going to be difficult, as soon as they develop a superintelligence it tries to delete the entire microsoft codebase.

Article on the Ick generated by AI shit from the perspective of a woman “They Built Stepford AI and Called It “Agentic””, talking about how women adopt it less, and gives a reason why this might be so. On a personal note (I’m a man for the record), while I normally get the uncanny valley effect a lot less than normal people, I do notice it a lot with AI generated people, really odd experience that.
