This video has opened my eyes - now to find a good source of stone ground, heritage wheat flour. I don’t think I’ll mill my own, but now I see why some do it. #sourdough https://boingboing.net/2026/04/21/historian-explains-why-modern-bread-sucks.html

We tootled off to see some daffs at the arboretum. They’re planted throughout the grounds, especially under blooming trees on the Thornhill side. This is the “tour tram” loading area at Morton.

Ugh. I looked at Lies Antisocial and now my eyes feel unclean. It’s weird though; a brief scan of a post that went up at about 1130pm his time reads like normal English, no janky syntax or random capitalization. There’s no way Present Dumpsterfire types all that out with his stubby fat fingers.

More pleasant topic: this handsome boi showed up at the workplace of a family member. He’ll visit the vet tomorrow to see if he’s chipped and if so, his humans will be contacted. If he’s not chipped, he looks clean and healthy, and the cat distribution system is working. His doggo brother Moose…

We went to the local park district pool this morning and are feeling good. In a few days, I pick up my sassy orange Catrike All Road, so I can ride around the neighborhood and start rebuilding my leg strength. Whee!

This makes being a fan of everything Lewis, Sayers, and Tolkien wrote a little tricky. Actually, Lewis was the least of the three to me.

How they manage Trump: general declines to give Trump a number of personnel involved to boast about with “I’d love to keep that a secret,” Trump seamlessly pivots to saying he’ll keep it a secret, but blurts out “hundreds and hundreds.” Jeeze, he’s dumb. https://crooksandliars.com/2026/04/keep-secret-general-stops-trump-blurting

All of the outrageous architectural renderings and rebrandings are the lead-up to paying for memorial shrines to their wannabe-godling. The Miami one will feature that damn flying Qatari bribe in the lobby, and a giant golden cankles idol as well. https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2026/mar/31/trump-presidential-library-plans-miami-ridicule

WOWZA!! That’s amazing. Would love to know your process - and is the lettering appliquéd on, or pieced? I have ideas like this (want to use up all the mask fabric that is in odd shapes, but have no idea how to start).

Thru study of ancient European DNA, genetic markers passed by males (Y chromosomes) and females (mitochondrial DNA), one theory is that farming women “married” hunter men. How quaint. More likely: abduction and r*pe. But how to test this? Burials of high status women exist, that’s a start.

Nothing beats an early morning call from an insurance claim adjuster for waking a person up and getting the mind and body moving. Now that I’ve had coffee and mah Cheerios, I can call her back with the information she needs; the neuro doc referred me to a medical records phone/fax. UGH.

I survived growing up in Salt Lake, and attended a few Salt Lake Eagles games in the Seventies. Now living in the Chicago Burbs, might root for the Blackhawks’ Connor Bedard. Because post-Utah PTSD is my jam; I cheer every time a Utah team is defeated. https://www.sltrib.com/sports/utah-hockey-club/2026/03/13/chicagos-connor-bedard-vs-utah/

Son Fred Jr served in the National Guard, then was a pilot for I think TWA, until alcoholism took him out. Mary Trump blames the family for the stress that ruined him; Fred Sr had no respect for his son’s wish to serve (and break free of his control).
