I didnt say to destroy it, let it have its natural life cycle. Live service games very clearly have a life cycle that ends. You can debate whether companies are deceptive or not, and we should fix that issue if it exists, but preserving art for arts sake is quickly a fools errand and driven by ego. If you don't see the obvious pitfalls of curating such a collection then you simply feel bad about things dieing. Things in life don't last forever, accept that. Some live service games last...

I'm not sure why organized religion is getting a pass here.

Yes, and if I spend too much time on here it affects my perceptions of people in real life. I do a few other things that aren't really healthy as well. I'm sure I could do better.

Maybe, just maybe, parents shouldn't let their kids in awful places, and also awful places shouldnt let kids in. Turns out parental controls are bullshit, and the only real answer is RTFM or dont use it at all. A business and its customers dont exist without each other, so the blame is on both sides. All that said, the government definitely could help the parental understand and controls side of thing too using regulation.

Well, thats what you get when non-tech people try to regulate tech. At least we have correctly identified a problem, and are now trying to solve it. Tech companies taking advantage of regulators lack of knowledge to continue abusing their customers is a different problem. This solution might not work but we will learn and try something else or refine it until it does work, or until social media somehow isn't predatory and doesnt need the guard rails.

Its expensive for you and me, but not for someone who needs apple to handle it for them. That's the whole point. If you can do it yourself, or know someone who can do it for you for free, then you aren't the customer Apple is looking for.

Main thing is to know if your ISP cares or not. Mine does, so I use a vpn. You can set qbittorrent to only use the vpn so if it gets turned off then just nothing will download. You can do that on windows just downloading something like qbittorrent and mullvad vpn. You can also set them up in docker containers if you are familiar with that. It allows you to have the vpn only affect qbittorrent rather than your whole PC. I do all of this on linux as well but had originally set it up on windows.
