@dantheclamman@scicomm.xyz your Senators and President formed their brains before 1980. This may show.

@ppappas@mastodon.social you might care to alter the alt text and caption, since the tool is a pickaxe, neither a shovel nor a spade.

RE: https://mastodon.social/@glynmoody/116544062044134028 VPNs have many entirely sensible and legitimate uses. I don't have one at present but in the past I've connected to university and healthcare systems through something of that sort. If I wanted to take back running my email server, I think I'd need to VPN to a server. Others have other uses.

@adastra1930@mastodon.social I suppose notionally one might filter, scrambled, and randomise, what goes from the cameras, swapping images from on3 camera with others. But best eliminate the central access.

Perhaps more sensible to provide a #free #ration, probably quite small. The standing charge remains a problem. It makes sense, but can amount to a large amount on a tiny use of #energy. https://www.theguardian.com/business/2026/apr/09/give-all-uk-households-a-set-amount-of-subsidised-energy-says-thinktank #UK #electricity

Surely the #President of the #USA should be too busy seek8ng peace in his war fo4 a ceremonial visit. Best to reschedule, in order not to distract the Americans.. https://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2026/mar/31/king-charles-state-visit-to-us-to-go-ahead-buckingham-palace-confirms

#Sidmouth #Daffodils Someone left money to have a very large number of daffodil bulbs planted. It makes the place pretty.

RE: https://mastodon.online/@Ally_SMMiller/116277482742657690 Most car makers are being spectacularly stupid, some evil. The engineers, as is usual, given a problem produced solutions. Purpose-designed electric vehicles, a charging network, electricity supplies. And then people who make money from what is burned, and people who write about ICEVs, and people who've always built ICEVs pushed back.
