Like others said, a lot is just nostalgia. I liked a lot of the aesthetics of the time, from 90's to XP, to Vista/7. Also like others said, a majority of actually-affordable peripherals use some sort of specific driver system that's Windows only. Big example being my cool Mechland keyboard I really like, but it's one of those where trying to give it cool effects in OpenRGB would brick it, and only their Windows software can access some of its main features. Not the worst though...

For some people? Pre-ordering digital games. I mean huh? What are ye even doin there Jimmy-Bob? You afraid they're gonna run out of copies? O.o Edit: digitally delivered, like say, Steam or GoG games.

Have I been on 10 years? I dunno, but I like to think I'm pretty experienced for an amateur. OpenSUSE Tumbleweed! It rolls! It games! It works with newer hardware and gets along sorta reasonably with Nvidia! Best part? If any of that ISN'T true (rarely after an update), it seamlessly integrates BTRFS snapshots with the boot menu, to just roll back and wait like a week til the wonderful souls working on it, fix stuff. The community is also very supportive.
