What to say here?
I'm a dad of two girls, married. Living in the Netherlands. Work for a high tech life science company. kind of a geek.
Update: I'm not religious, but I like this psalm.
https://biblehub.com/nlt/psalms/109.htm
Start at verse 8. You know who it's about.

@scottsantens@hachyderm.io Is that $1.39 in Irish dollars?

@petrikas@mastodon.art Yes, accurate, but I think there's a little more to it. Some people are rich enough so that they can offer money to people who are pretty good at throwing those darts and collect the prize money for them. With which they pay more people to do the throwing. Congratulations, you are now a "self made" industrialist.

@Remittancegirl Ummm... I haven't been following this but I thought it wasn't just a drink here and there. Weren't there trailers of him getting absolutely plastered, being drunk at work, and unexplained absences? There's a line where harmless use of alcohol crosses over to a drinking problem, where it is likely to affect your ability to do your job. Afaik, that's what's going on: He has a problem.

@Remittancegirl Okay, I get it. Yes, he's a sycophantic whack job, who only does what's in his own interest, and that of his boss, but that's only an argument for one half of the legislators. If you manage to convince at least some of the other party that he's crap, you might get someone else, who might be better. Or worse. Nobody knows.

@samlitzinger Well, as they always said, don't take him literally, but take him seriously. Turns out he's literally doing what he said.

@coreyspowell This phenomenon has been investigated for potential production of paclitaxel, the main ingredient for taxol, an anticancer drug made from yew trees. Almost literally milking trees. https://repository.tudelft.nl/record/uuid:0500bcc5-c263-4fe3-a428-87beac9ac806
