Message for everyone using #obtainium to update #MapComplete: Our source code repository requires sign-in since a few day as we've been hammered by the clankers. This breaks updates via obtainium, as this suddenly requires a token. @pietervdvn did now setup a mirror on #codeberg of the android app over here: https://codeberg.org/pietervdvn/android-wrapper Use https://apps.obtainium.imranr.dev/redirect?r=obtainium://add/https://codeberg.org/pietervdvn/android-wrapper/releases to update...

Today is #Opening_hours - day in the #31DayOSMChallenge MapComplete has excellent support for opening hours: you can drag and drop and even add holiday periods through our UI Many thematic maps support it, such as https://mapcomplete.org/shops, https://mapcomplete.org/food and https://mapcomplete.org/cafes_and_pubs And while your at it, you can leave a #review as well :)

Todays topic in the #31DayOSMChallenge is a #MapRoulette task. Did you know that https://mapcomplete.org/benches has the @OpenBenches data loaded (via MapRoulette)? You can thus import a #bench (and close) a MapRoulette challenge this way #Maptober

  Today's topic in the #31DayOSMChallenge is 'Points of interest'. Let that be what #mapcomplete is all about! We have plenty of thematic #maps, each focussing on a single topic, such as #shops mapcomplete.org/shops, #restaurants and #fastfood https://mapcomplete.org/food, #toilets https://mapcomplete.org/toilets, #bookcases https://mapcomplete.org/bookcases (such as #FreeLittleLibrary ), #playgrounds (https://mapcomplete.org/playgrounds), #schools (https://mapcomplete.org...

I just checked the numbers. This year (2026) we had over 20.000 changesets created by mapcomplete You read that right. 20 thousand! We've also crossed the 100.000 mark on the key 'panoramax', meaning that OSM has more then a hundred-thousand links into the #Panoramax-ecosystem. Most of them (but not all) made with #MapComplete #OpenStreetMap #geo

It has been quite a while since we last posted about new features on MapComplete, but it has been growing slowly but steadily. Some highlights: - Libraries and museums can both be seen and edited now, via https://mapcomplete.org/libraries and https://mapcomplete.org/museums - thanks @RLin - The shops theme now also shows vending machines - A chronometer-input element is now available to measure time; e.g. the time you need to wait at a traffic sign - The trees theme has 'stump'...

It has been a while since the last writeup of new features and fixes on MapComplete, so here is a breakdown: - It is now possible to add pictures to reviews, hosted by @mangroveReviews . These will not be added to Panoramax, so feel free to photograph your favourite dish when reviewing a restaurant -The cycle-infra theme got many updates and new layers (and is still in active development) - The maxspeed theme got colour coded - Many, many bug fixes and small cleanups
