The RCMP are now investigating, though I’m not particularly optimistic that there will be any real accountability. What stands out is that Elections Alberta’s press release—at least from what I can tell—doesn’t mention the source of the complaint at all. By contrast, the RCMP have been quite direct in identifying the ANDP as the complainant. What it means, I don’t know. Possibly nothing—I just found it interesting 🤔 #ABPoli #CDNPoli https://thecanadian.social/@Luchador/116495655597639413

Ah, of course—V for Vendetta tops the list of books removed from Alberta school libraries. Because nothing screams “educational hazard” quite like a fictional revolutionary anarchist taking on a Christofascist, homophobic, white-supremacist political regime. Yes, let’s protect young minds from dystopian fiction that eerily mirrors reality... Heaven forbid they learn anything about resisting oppression—or thinking for themselves. 🔗: https://theijf.org/article/41-alberta-school-divisions-bann...

And… we’ve got snow again 😔 Also in case you’re wondering about the puppy —she’s currently annoyed with me for putting her back on leash so she couldn’t chase the rabbits on the path 😂 #iPhoneography #Photography #DogsOfMastodon #YYC #Snow #Spring #Puppy

Finished reading: Little Brother by Cory Doctorow 📚 Although I first discovered @pluralistic@mamot.fr through his more recent novels (and the Fediverse), I can understand why so many people consider this book, one of his best. I absolutely loved it —truly great storytelling. https://micro.blog/books/9791041985197 #Books #Bookstodon

0-0 Cavs vs Forge A decent game, though frustrating that the Cavs couldn’t make the most of being a man up. Ingham was rock-solid at the back—without him, the result could have looked very different. Three weeks into the season, and I’m already done with Gareth Wheeler’s commentary/insights. He’s insufferable —constantly negative about any team west of Hamilton and convinced his hot takes actually matter. Please, for the love of football, let him stay away from the World Cup… #FediFC #CanPL

G’day, I’m Dave 👋 I’m an Aussie living in Calgary with my family, right at the foot of the beautiful Canadian Rockies. I’m a longtime fedizen who’s decided to move to a local server rather than hosting my own. I’m into podcasts, audiobooks, movies, photography, and hiking. I’m a big football fan, supporting teams in Canada, England, Scotland, and Australia. I’m also a very inconsistent fan of the Edmonton Oilers.
