Still working on reducing the amount of stuff I carry with me everywhere, though I’ve gone with the messenger bag for shorter trips and already feeling a little better. The everyday equipment has whittled down to phone, wallet, keys, diabetes kit, mints, compact camera & USB power bank. Seems to work OK!

Finally got around to playing with NetBSD a little. Quite fun, feels incredibly old in the best possible ways. Would very much like to try and get this booting on the JavaStation, once I find the time to diagnose the hardware issues it seems to have!

Gosh I am super looking forward to the furmeet this weekend.

New goal for the next year: register as an exhibitor at a classic computer/games event sometime. Unicorn stands behind 16/32 bit computers ready to absolutely talk your ears off above the glow of CRTs and clack of floppy drives. #retrocomputing

Some of the test photos I took for my first medium format outing. Alright, I think, for a first effort! Hah. (1954 GB Kershaw 110, 2019-Expired Kodak Tri-X 400.) #filmphotography #photography #mediumformat

Having driven a decent number of different cars at this point, I definitely think the mid-2000's is a sweet spot. New enough to have creature comforts, air con, power steering, electric windows, reliable fuel injection. Old enough to not have a ridiculous set of "helpful" driver assistance features that frankly are more distracting than much else.

Had a lovely time at the Sheffield Furmeet this weekend! Was a pretty chill meet, lots of new folk and checked off “installing Windows XP live at a furmeet”! Took Midnight out and tried out a weird old Leica camera on the furries too. Good day! 📸: _lucasholt_ #Furry #furmeet #Sheffield

I’ve considered writing short stories with my characters, but gosh every time I storyboard something out in my head it ends up pretty darn dark! Usually a very broken future with the world in some sort of ruins. There are lots of drafted things abandoned on my Atari. It’d be nice to have a song attached to the end of each chapter though, music is a huge inspiration for me, can think of lots of ways to integrate that. Might try it sometime, strictly a non-canon thing.

My never ending quest for slightly weird photography has finally led me to a Leica of my very own! ..but not an M, oh gosh no, we’ve got ourselves here this worn out Digilux1 from 2002! Of course the first outing with it was to a furmeet, as all good camera tests should be. Really fun not-so-little thing. I enjoy it and it shall join me in some silly adventures. #photography #Furry #digicam

Latest issue of my newsletter is out, this one is a convention special! OK, OK, this is far from monthly, I've been busy (and very tired!). Available at the usual spot on my website! https://lighttheunicorn.neocities.org/ #Furry #newsletter

Day 3: Lots of cool stuff at the dealers den, Furtography was great fun (will get photos developed/edited post-con!) and lots of sequins have fallen off my sequin skirt. Awesome day so far! #cfz #confuzzled #cfz2026

The "Windows XP desktop" turned out to be an old FM2+ motherboard I had three of in a drawer. Bit of overclocking to 4.7GHz and we're good! Now just to, uh, see if I can get XP working reliably on it or back to the drawing board!

Gosh it feels like CFz has snuck around again real fast. Trying to have everything somewhat ready! We gotta go for that bulk instant ramen run again soon hah!

This was the best compact phone keyboard back in the day, I’ll take no arguments against it! Business-classy with a splash of purple and faux-chrome! I loved the heck out of this thing, it still has pictures on it I took at old music concerts. #retro #Furry #blackberry

Task for this evening is to deep clean and repair the coffee machine. Not a fun task, and one I’ve been putting off for ages, but gotta get to it!

Update: Coffee machine is up and running (though without the hot milk section working, yet) so my morning is going to be at least 257% better! Good night, you lot of the fediverse!

Oh hey, haven't posted in a bit. Weekend really started off super rough over life things, but ended up having a very nice (and sorely appreciated) weekend at Leicester Comic Con with @notshadowfever and @lakewoodland Acting handler/photographer, meeting the Red Dwarf cast and Brian Blessed plus just generally having a fun con. 💙
