  @fractalolivia @mos_8502 everything in moderation. It’s deep complex inheritance that’s really out of favor. Simple flat objects and interfaces are ok. The real value I got from GOF was the super high level. The naming and categorization for the patterns. Not even the formal details or UML. It really helps to just frame the thinking and intention around what you are trying to achieve in a chunk of code.

It’s not “take that hill” it’s “take that hill to deny the enemy movement along that road” so that the folks in the field can make the right tactical decisions as the situation evolves.
