Every once in a while I want to add a video to my static sites. However, I don't want to upload it to youtube or vimeo to do it. I looked at peertube once, but didn't follow through, and when I looked today I came across MediaCMS. Has anyone here installed one (or both) for personal video sharing only? For family and friends, and/or embeding into your static blogs? #peertube #mediacms #selfhosting #sharingvideos #opensource

There will NOT be large scale datacenters in space until we have permanent bases in space where we can mine, refine and manufacturer to raw materials without having to launch them out of our gravity well. https://spectrum.ieee.org/orbital-data-centers-heat The economics and brutal physics of space agree. #sciencefiction #thermodynamics #space #spaceKaren

I miss the internet were I would be able to click a link and not worry about data brokers in the USA harvesting every bit of data they can about me to manipulate my decisions in the future. That isn't reality, so I use an "ad-blocker" like I wear bug spray for ticks. It won't work all the time, but its the least I can do to prevent getting bitten.

Does anyone have to use Outlook for work? Is there a way to create a keyboard shortcut to archive messages? I could swear that this used to be a feature, but it has been more than 5y since I used outlook daily. I have gone through the help inside outlook and did a search, but I didn't find anything that would work with the latest version, on windows. #MSOutlook #Micrsoftsucks #lazyweb

@PjchrisPenny They *just* had a leadership review. I think they are cooked and will stay on the red pill pipeline.

If I wanted to re-learn linear programming for the optimization of BESS sizing in diesel microgrid without renewable storage, where should I look? I want to learn from scratch, but quickly. Ideally something using python and open source solvers; and modelling that uses multiple threads is a plus.

If you are a #twins fan, Aaron Gleeman left The Athletic to go back to their roots. While I am a baseball fan, go #TorontoBlueJays, the thing that I noticed with this move is that they went to Ghost vs the other place for his publication. This is a great sign that the other place is likely not the "default" the way that it was a little while ago. https://www.aarongleeman.com

My projects are getting out of control, and something that I didn't realize until this week is, Fastmail doesn't "really" have task integration. There is a single "default" task list with the default calendar and that's it. I'm looking for something that I can self-host and has caldav support for my "magicmirror". I have come across this - https://vikunja.io/features/ via the initial search. Has anyone used...

I'm working on a series for self-hosting from your parents to nerdy computer lab with debian running on a shoebox. Currently I have Synology for the "best" option for reliable plug and play option, and Unraid for the messy middle. What I'm looking for now is something that is set and forget, but not a paid OS. I haven't used CasaOS or TrueNAS since they moved to Docker in ElectricEel. Out of the two, which would YOU recommend. This needs to run on ol...
