Jeff Wayne's musical version of HG Wells' original War of the Worlds is as captivating now as it was when it was originally released in 1978. It has been said that necessity is the mother of invention - yup! Last month I learned that the basement sump pump had failed and the concrete floor was no longer dry. Changed the pump and finally got the JSN-SR04T v2.0 ultrasonic sensor working in the sump hole! Hooked it up to an ESP32 flashed with ESPHome and passed the data on to Home Assistant. Getting all kinds of useful data along with level alerts to the cellphone! #ESP32 #HomeAssistant #homeautomation
