  Flevoland was a national scale pseudo conscript construction project on the scale of the Great Wall. Bit more useful though. The Dutch in the 70s oil crisis told all their freshly unemployed people to grab a shovel or they don’t get unemployment, and now their country is a tenth bigger.

  My uninformed speculation is that they want to drop the bags on funds you have to bail out, pension funds for example, and then we’re effectively bailing out the people who bet on AI, not AI companies themselves. And if we don’t, they still win, it’s pensions and savings that take the hit.
