For polluters, the payoff has been extraordinary. Hundreds of millions in campaign spending translated into hundreds of billions of dollars in tax breaks and secured revenues as Republicans' policies force consumers to purchase more and more fossil fuels. https://www.epw.senate.gov/public/_cache/files/5/9/59c00f03-c375-4266-9bc9-51c1fb1ccc90/BD367324A2B0FF111B29E228E3C339AA1C8E84E703CED38A6644E80E040CB213.polluter-report-final.pdf

Ratepayers in Virginia will be each be paying $2.91 per month until 2031 in order to reimburse Dominion Energy for the cost for methane they paid to produce power in 2022 from North America's most efficient methane power plant. Ditch fossil fuels if you want cheaper electricity!

In the long-running climate science denialism community, CO2 is plant food has been one of their go-tos. As global temperatures rise, vegetation will heat up faster than the air. This will increase pressure on ecosystems and reduce the ability of plants to absorb carbon dioxide. https://carbonherald.com/rising-temperatures-prevent-plants-from-absorbing-co2-study-finds/

We have just barely begun the transition off of fossil fuels, but it has begun. Demand for oil, natural gas and coal all grew in 2025, but at a slower rate than in 2024. Demand for electricity grew at well over twice the rate of energy demand. The world has entered the Age of Electricity. https://www.iea.org/reports/global-energy-review-2026/key-findings

This is interesting. Scientists have found a rocky planet with an atmosphere orbiting in a star’s habitable zone that has conditions similar to those on Earth. The exoplanet, LHS 1140 b, is in orbit around a red dwarf and is only 48 light-years from Earth.

A new 900-acre PV Power Plant will be able to provide clean power to ~25,000 homes in Illinois. Please push back against anyone who says that greenfield solar should not be allowed with trash talk about parking lots and rooftops. We need cheap, clean electricity fast! https://www.solsystems.com/news/sol-systems-reaches-financial-close-on-123mw-ac-peoria-solar-portfolio-in-illinois/

Mark Henderson, director of corporate affairs at Wellcome, London, UK, believes that scientists need to do and say what the conservatives demand from them because right-leaning segments of our population tend to be less trusting of science than those that lean left or are centrist. https://www.nature.com/articles/d41586-026-01975-x

It sure would help if people in the media would stop referring to people who want to radically alter our government and society as ‘conservatives.’ It's misleading the public.

Predictably, our National Public Radio is focused on Trump's call for all Americans to unite behind him and support the Republicans' agenda. They truly seem to still believe that if they kowtow enough, Republicans will resume funding them. And then after glazing for Republicans, as usual NPR does a story on transgenderism in order to obscure all of the Republican propaganda they now push on our airwaves.

Republicans are incompetent example: Republicans are tryin to help out the U.S. coal industry because they paid them to do that. Meanwhile, the Republicans' latest Middle Eastern war has increased the cost of shipping from North America to China is up by as much as 55%, Bank of America has said.

I wonder if there was such a dramatic contrast between oil futures and physical prices when a Democrat was POTUS after the Kremlin's full-scale invasion of Ukraine and if not why now?

Casey A. Williams states that, "It is hard to pinpoint the exact moment climate change ceased to be a salient political issue in the US." But that is very much not true. In 1999, Bush Jr. talked about addressing our climate crisis, but after 2000, crickets and so much opposition from the Republican Party and the popular media outlets that Democrats couldn't campaign on it. https://www.break-down.org/why-climate-politics-still-matters/

Automaker, GM, just announced that every factory, office, and facility it operates in the United States now draws electricity matched entirely by renewable sources. The milestone makes GM the first domestic automaker to reach that threshold, and it arrived years ahead of the 2030 deadline they had set.

Oil up, DOW down, but our legacy corporate media won't criticize Republicans over that like they did Democrats about the Covid supply chain crisis and the Kremlin's full-scale invasion of Ukraine neither of which were the fault of Democrats.

I've just watched Brando as Napoleon. I never knew the story of King Jarl XIV (King Charles III). What a story! Is there a modern movie about that fascinating part of our history? There must be some terrific foreign films telling that tale, I'm sure. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Charles_XIV_John

Joe Biden tried to warn the American public about the Republicans' embrace of fascism. Instead of heeding the advice of one of the most experienced political observers alive, the American public instead chose to ridicule his experience and expertise. I would say we deserve this, but I don't.
