  📣 Are you on the server toot.community? You need to transfer your account to a different server, as it is closing down on 28th October 2026. (They gave three months warning in July.)   What happens if a badly-run server allows bullying, spam or other nastiness? What if it refuses to respond to abuse reports? In such cases, other servers' admins can use their ultimate weapon: defederation. Defederation cuts off all communication between the admin's server and the abusive server, and the worst-run servers end up extremely isolated because so many servers have defederated them.
