The WHY CHEAP ART? manifesto PEOPLE have been THINKING too long that ART is a PRIVILEGE of the MUSEUMS & the RICH. ART IS NOT BUSINESS! It does not belong to banks & fancy investors ART IS FOOD. Updated Consumer Trading Law mean that a lot of #USA and #EU small businesses just won't sell items to the #UK any more - apparently this has been. True since Dec 2024? ... Speaking as a UK resident.. this sucks. #GPSR = The General Product Safety Regulation (GPSR) is the EU law that ensures all consumer products sold in the EU meet strict safety standards. Note: This also applies to digital products, like PDF patterns, AND products not sold, but provided for Free. https://www.lucylegal....

Oof. Reading a piece of long form fanfiction and this quote just jumped up and punched me ~straight in my psyche~ : "People think I’m tough. And maybe I am. Maybe I’ve earned it. But tough doesn’t mean untouched. It just means you learned how to bleed quietly." #Fanfic #introspection #writing

The Industry rumour is that Netflix is attempting to buy Letterbox - because part of the Dystopian Now apparently involves every media outlet in the world being owned and/or a subsidiary of the same freaking Big Six companies. I hate this. I hate all of this. https://www.salon.com/2026/07/15/if-letterboxd-sells-out-to-netflix-the-people-lose/

I made a small flower cushion (1/4 size). It is cute and wonky and I learned a lot about cotton shrinkage and fabric tension and got to make shank buttons. Image: Photo of a yellow flower cushion.made out of cotton material with a metal ruler showing 9 inch diameter. #Sewing

Friends, I just had THE Most horrifying interaction with a banana, that the heatwave and humidity had somehow managed to ~ liquify inside the intact banana skin~. The words Undulating Waves might allow you to imagine *some* of the interaction but.. :: shudder :: Mere words cannot convey, the squishy sloshy sound and excruciatingly WRONG feel of the thing. #heatwave #fruit #banana #EldritchHorror #Ew

So an - interesting ? depressing? worth mentioning? - thing about my latest hyper-fixation is that is features a bunch of human characters rendered in 3d who all have very distinct faces and features. Particularly thier noses. Anyway, every #AI generated image or video about these characters straightens out their noses and makes them all the same nose. Which is .. weird. ? 😖🤔🤷🏿‍♀️ I suspect it's because the 'average' amalgamation of images of a human #nose, probably is &a...

Soooo #hobbii brand got bought by a "Tech company" and the CEO recently made a LinkedIn post all about how ~great AI generated images~ are. Notably they didn't put that on their store anywhere - just LinkedIn. Aaaand the backlash has been swift. Consumer trust ? Nuked from space. Influencer Goodwill? *obliterated*.
