Could be but the article is not talking about “more condescending” language but specifically about language that’s less formal and at a lower grade level. I’m not sure if condescending answers are automatically also “dumbed down”. I also think the way training text is gathered and fed into LLMs would separate different authors and context or we would see similar issues with all types of prompts. I can’t definitely say it’s not the reason but I think “language commonly used by women is more commo...

We already tested this with Google Glass and we called people like you glassholes. I can’t believe this has to be explained again.

It’s FOSS and easy to set up. KeePass simply stores everything in a file and you use Syncthing to sync this file between devices. Syncing is optional, if you just need you password on desktop you don’t need it. KeePass has pretty bad UX when compared with Bitwarden though. Bitwarden/Vaulwarden is the best solution IMHO but it’s really difficult to set up.

Israel got to kill some children and invade Lebanon. They used this fool to gain couple of smaller and bigger wins again. Nothing else matters here.

Over time I learned to distinguish marketing hype from "it's actually a good movie/show" hype. The ratings are mostly meaningless. Highest grossing movies are usually shit and get good ratings because most people like watching something they are already familiar with or because they fall for the hype and just like something because everyone likes it. Same with "bad" movies. People will give low ratings to movies they don't understand or are too original for them. I le...

It's bad for women but it's even worse for children. Women are at a disadvantage but can at least take some precautions, arm themselves and try to fight back. Kids are literally defenseless. Hence we should treat all adults as pedophiles just in case. We don't know which shark might bite them.

Morcheeba - Rome wasn't built in a day ? I think they chose the most pop song for the single and rest of their songs are very varied and less catchy.

The other day I saw article claiming you can touch holds on a boulder and still flash it so some people would probably be ok with this as well.

As a cyclist I'm super careful not to hit anyone because it's more dangerous for me than for the pedestrian. I mean, high speed it's probably equally dangerous but at low speed I can bump into someone and end up on the ground.

In Spain many towns have some tiny local ISP that offers fiber. My town (population 30k) has two local ISPs. I can get 10Gbit for 30 euros/month. Even remote villages have fiber.

What extra flexibility do parents have? Are we talking about doctor and school appointments? I don’t have kids and I’m allowed to go to a doctor during work hours. I’m also allowed medical leave to care for family members. I can come up with any excuse to leave work for couple of hours as long as I make up for it later. If I work less, I’m unreliable and it happens regularly I will eventually get fired, same as someone with children.

Normally there's a small group of people with expertise doing most of the work. If you poach them and pay them to work full time on the project it will be really hard for the community to compete.

Any phone manufacturer can do it and they don't need any special deals with GrapheneOS for that. GrapheneOS would definitely not support Motorola making some secret changes to the OS before installing it so this news is the complete opposite of such situation.
