  It probably does work where you are. Many places will auto redirect 911 or their neighbors emergency numbers to the local one for the benefit of travelers.

  I was driving home in a blizzard and saw a van go off the road and flip over into the woods. I stopped, called 911, told them the highway, direction and mile marker. They asked me how the occupants were, but I was still walking to them as I was making the call. They were fine, but shooken up. Waited about ten minutes for emergency people to show up and left pretty quickly after.

  I was placed in the remedial track and when I tried to get out, they tried everything to keep me in them. From telling me to wait a week to reconsider, only to miss the change class deadline, to gas lighting me into fearing failure, to telling me that the classes were full. I recently found out that they lied to me about my honor’s placement test to keep me in the remedial classes. I hated my experience with that school so much.
