Is there a way to know the specifications of your cables? Hi everyone! Over the years, I’ve started having big collection of cables or dongles. Mostly USB-C, USB-A to Micro USB, USB A to C, USB C to A, HDMI… I was wondering how I could know their specifications as nothing is written on them. Maybe through a Linux program telling me how fast they can transfer data. I was wondering also if there was a way to know how much power was sent to a device when these cables are used to power one....

Hi everyone! I now have 4 computers running Linux, each with an almost perfectly set up distro (which took days to perfect) and would want to create backups so that I can move and restore these between all of my computers. Agreed. When you download, you don’t really know what you’re getting. Also you don’t get consistency between all of your movies. That’s the difference when you rip your own stuff. With the bluray drive, there isn’t much choice on the used market in Switzerland so I’m just trying to go with a good brand and check reviews if I find some.

Hi everyone! I’m a 90% satisfied Gnome user only looking for more customization possibilities. I had tried KDE on a VM, but, since I have a Steam Deck (Steam OS), I thought I should try to fully make it usable as a computer in case I’d need it. I kind of managed to recreate the Gnome workflow where you switch between workspaces. I’ve also set up kwin rules telling, for instance, Firefox to open on workspace No 2 on startup.
