  In an old job I worked a compressed 5 over 4 and loved it - managed to talk my way into getting Wednesday as the day off and it was so nice to never have to work for more than 2 days in a row with a little mini weekend in between Working 8-6 every day did suck a bit, but I mostly got the first & last hour to myself as nobody else was doing the same shift Would recommend if your work pattern allows it
