I just worked out how to update the "new spreadsheet" template in Excel. I've been an IT professional since the mid 1990s and I've used Excel pretty much every day since then. Still - better late than never.

Saw a person delivering the post on a little red scooter. The letters on the scooter’s numberplate were CDN. That amused me quite a lot more than it really should have.

When I grow up, I want to write a compiler for something. No reason. Just looks like an interesting challenge.

@quephird now I wanna go write a compiler… Looks like fun!

I’m heading off to the airport, so I booked a taxi with the taxi company that has always been reliable for me in the past. Not today. Everything is AI agents not real people, and apparently none of their drivers wants to pick me up. At this stage, I’m seriously considering going back to Uber. :-/

Hi @mczachurski@mastodon.social I used to use #wallpapper all the time but it's not working on macOS 26+ due to #Mojave being deprecated. Just wondering if you have plans to continue developing it? No problem if not, I can fork and create a new version. But I thought I'd check with you first. :-) - thanks! https://github.com/mczachurski/wallpapper

Hi @lexfri@hachyderm.io ! FYI, some bits of the Cryptogram app seem to be having trouble with data updates. All other apps on my phone are connecting to the Internet just fine. Let me know if you would like me to try any diagnostic fun. :-)

Mostly I quite like my job. Today … not so much. Home wifi was down, and tethering from my phone was NOT being reliable. And it was hard to tell when the software was broken because we hadn’t built it right, because someone had deleted a bunch of critical core config, or because my sample data was built for a whole other environment. Meh. But I’ve got a job, and a good relationship with my wife kids. So … yeah. I’m one of the lucky ones. I hope your day is going ok too. :-)

RE: https://mastodon.social/@countablenewt/116329888997397720 I’m not sure what it says about me, that I have an overwhelming urge to request that you replace the slashes with dashes.

@Annacats@mastodon.social So sorry to hear it. We have no cats that look like Molly, but here’s a photo of Hazel in case it helps.

@kevpeirce@aus.social Thanks! I will go play with google maps for a bit. :-)

@kevpeirce@aus.social I actually lived in Launceston for a few years, awhile back, but I don’t remember these. I’m guessing that’s the Tamar in the foreground? May I ask what suburb this is in?

@nschultz@aus.social my kid was at a concert at the Lion Arts Centre just near there tonight, was a lovely drive in to the city to pick her up after the show.
