If you're tired of me talking about the Kickstarter, here's good news: it's ending soon. If it's the first time you see me talking about it, here's bad news: there's very little time left to jump in and get Sanguine Scenario in your preferred format! Check it out here: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/authorjm/sanguine-scenario-adventure-fantasy-hardcover?ref=czkooa #bookstodon #fantasy #fantasybooks #amreading #amreadingfantasy #cozydark

All the characters in Sanguine Scenario have thoughts on adventures. What are yours? The Kickstarter has only 8 days to go, so if you want an illustrated cozy dark fantasy adventure with custom chapter headers, pick your format (e-book, paperback, jacketed hardcover, or special edition) and join other backers to make it happen! https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/authorjm/sanguine-scenario-adventure-fantasy-hardcover?ref=czkooa #bookstodon #fantasy #fantasybooks #cozydark

After long years of journeying, she's finally back. She can't see the sun of her homeworld anymore, but she can feel its warmth. I rarely do portraits, but I was playing around with creating an older female, so here it is. No AI.

Sanguine Scenario got its first review on NetGalley, and it's a glowing one! If you'd like to read it too before everyone else, it's available this month. And if you don't use NetGalley but would like to review it, just drop me a line requesting an ARC!

RE: https://mstdn.party/@dennise/116541159673147310 Nothing like a lying scammer to start your day. Authors beware, "book club" scams had made it to Mastodon (and if you need information how this has all the tell tales of scam, even if I wasn't aware of book club scams, just send me a DM and I'll give you details).

Heads up, Gumroad has silently changed the payout minimums for bank/Stripe. It used to be $10, and now it's... $100. This was not communicated at all. I'm not a lawyer, so I don't know if not giving 30 days advance notice is legal, but it definitely doesn't instill trust. I was planning to open another account with Gumroad, for an unrelated endeavor (but who knows, maybe they silently changed that too and I wouldn't be able to anyway), but instead, I&...

Since I caught some kind of virus or other ailment, here's a fun question for today: what would be the most important ingredients of a Cure All Diseases Potion? Traditional eye of newt? Apple core and orange peel? GARLIC? Or maybe something outrageous like… Share your ideas.

Day 4 of being seriously sick. I'd consider myself feeling _slightly_ less miserable and maybe getting better if it wasn't day 4 of this misery and if I wasn't up since 2:30am. Seriously, I haven't felt that bad for that long since Covid in 2022.

Unicorns don't seem to be popular species anymore. You can find quite a few in the classic fantasy stories, but nowadays, they seem to have lost their luster and disappeared in the shadows. Do you recall any recently (let's say 5 years) published books that have them?

You know what the biggest problem with pushing all-things-AI is? Wrong direction. I want AI to do my laundry and dishes so that I can do art and writing, not for AI to do my art and writing so that I can do my laundry and dishes.
