Are wi-fi hotspots/repeaters a good way to mitigate privacy issues from routers? Routers from what I understand have a few way to monitor people around, like radio-based sonar, logging and informing of every device that connects to it, etc. If wanting to ensure some more #privacy, would it be a good option to keep the router as far as possible from the common areas of the house, so what I can "see" is blurry at best, while using repeaters like old phones on vanilla AOSP and SBC dev...

Late afternoon in a beach by Piçarras It was cold, windy and dry, making the sky clear. Also the sky hue was lighter in person, but my camera distorts colors a bit. Not something I usually like, but now it gave this slight gradient that I found quite nice. #photography

@heroiclauncher, there is a build of Heroic on Codeberg that hasn't been updated in about a year. Is it an official build of the Heroic Launcher project, or someone's fork?

~~the sun~~ Jokes aside, most of what I'd use in a baremetal installation, I can also do in a VM. The few things that don't work revolve lack of proper hardware acceleration for XP/Vista games, of which I have some.

On the first point, one of the reasons I use and would suggest either Mbin or Friendica. Both are hybrid, meant to bring together microblogging and threads, like Mastodon and Lemmy, and by extension, a bigger chunk of the fediverse. On the second point, if you want to keep things floating around, maybe cross-post them to a personal community in a separated instance. The line between preservation and redundancy is often non-existant. Other than that, there are some things you could do like comm...

Fantastic post! Some small things to note though: - On Mbin, RSS for users is only for thread posts, not microblog posts. - Misskey has RSS feeds for external users; source, I use it. - Apparently the Lemmy engine allows RSS for external sources but from my experience, it depends on the instance to enable it (might be good to investigate this one). - From what I was reading in Friendica's docs, if an instance allows, you can turn an user of yours into an RSS-tracking both, similar to RSS P...

LLM shoehorning aside, holy shit, mobile-oriented site designs never fail to negatively impress me. Dunno if it's the poor use of space, way too many pre-made categories shoved in the sidebar, text elements not being as clearly differentiated making them be ADHD triggers/inducers, or something else, but the beta forum for Stack Overflow feels like it ticks each problem I can think of. Please give the jank. At least jank is usable, predictable and doesn't make you feel like you need to...

About being a generic title, doesn't sound so imo. More like "it sounds like it carries personal meaning to the posts". Also about the post making sense or not, seems a bit rambly, though I'd say it's understandable, being annoyed and all. About lack of capacity to choose, I've been noticing that since 2018, so maybe it isn't a recent issue at least. Also if I may suggest, maybe try pushing past maybe the second mark (boss, stage, puzzle, etc.) before making a verd...

Boosted to help visibility, even if a little. Also, there’s Friendica and NodeBB among the “threadiverse”, though the latter I’m not very familiar with so Idk if it allows importing communities.

(Fixed the bolding issue) From a file I keep since I started using Linux near 5 years ago: Display the RAM usage: watch -n 5 free -m Useful if you open way too much stuff and/or you’re running on budget processing power, and don’t want your computer freezing from 3 hours. Also useful if you use KDE’s Konsole integrated into the Dolphin file manager and you must for some reason not close the Dolphin window. You’d just need to open Dolphin’s integrated Konsole (F4), run the command and wit...

I mean Epic the storefront, not the umbrella company, as the "company" in my original quote. If we are to be pedantic, there is also Epic the game publisher. Also Rocket League was bought by EGS and turned exclusive after it already had a following, so the numbers for it seem kinda artificial. Though that and Fortnite would also fall in the publisher branch from what I understand. The storefront itself is seldom news-worth, except for the freebies and that time they added a shoppin...
