Just me looking into a UofA masters degree in optics. While I'm working full time. Because I get jittery when I've been out of classes for more than 3 years. I mean, it would only be 7 years of taking classes after work, and work would pay for it all. No biggie. Guys, I might have a problem. #academicchatter

Hey #woodworking folks! I got a question for ya. How would you estimate the safe load for L brackets? Steel with triangle braces. Going through drywall into studs with #14 x 2.5" lag screws. 8 brackets holding up the wood (another 3 are slightly too low. Not sure if I can easily move them up) Another note, for a few of them the drywall had maybe a 1/4" gap between it and the stud. I screwed things down so they were tight, but tried to avoid bending/cracking the drywall noticeably.

This is fantastic. If you like both Math and DnD, take a watch. Warning, it's PDEs. Lots of PDEs. So "if you like math" takes on a really special meaning. How much do you like wave equation modification and fourier transforms? https://www.youtube.com/shorts/59xKGbD3OHg?feature=share #DnD #Math #DungeonsAndDragons #Maths

@boscoandpeck@universeodon.com @jordan@sometimes.social agree. It's supply and demand. The non-foils are only found in Collector Boosters (I think) and so are much much rarer than the foils which come in every deck. Combine that with some people try to only use non-foils due to the curling issue.

Hey tech friends. I'd like a phone recommendation. I need a new phone and I hate large phones (I have very small hands and pockets). I'm looking at the Jelly Star because it's so small and cheap and mostly functional, but I wish it had a bit better of a camera. Do you have any suggestions for something similar? #phone #phones #privacy #smartphone #luddite

Hi folks, So my sister is a zookeeper and takes care of the birds. She often sends pictures. This is Baked Beans. He is a baby screech owl and is being raised for the zoo's ambassador bird program. I would die for Beans. #BakedBeansOwl #owls #screechowls #zoo

*haunting wavering song as you feel sand blow onto your face* Well, we got some Makers all printed and painted. As I finish, I realize I don't really have any desert people minis. However, I do have a big ol' box of random minis. Time to paint some Fremen. And I guess out Dune on in the background #minipainting #mini #minis #rpg #painting #crafting #dune

Well, I got my weekly "I hate you" from the DM We were attacked by a pack of 4 werewolves. After 2 rounds the leader of the pack fled. The "I hate you" is because I singlehandedly engaged and rendered mostly useless 3 of them. One is incapacitated and makes a WIS save at the end of its turn to get out. It's very bad at this. Two are grappled and prone by me. I'm resistant to their damage and they have disadv on all attacks and their rolls to es...

So have y'all heard about the whole Colbert Show Talarico thing? Where CBS self-censored his interview because the FCC is going after him because he's a -very- christian democrat who is criticizing christian nationalism? Well now it's been posted on youtube, it's gotten 7.5 million views in 2 days. Anyway, if you'd like to see what all the fuss is about, here's the link to his interview! It would be a real shame if even more people saw it. https...
