I went down to the SEFAA* shop today. I hv been seduced by cross stitch agn. They have LOTS of X-stitch supplies for very cheap. While there, I met Kate, who was trying to untangle a skein of yarn from the leftovers box. I offered to help, because I love doing that stuff. She talked almost non-stop on many subjects, & was delightful. I love ppl with minds like hers. I got 3 pcs of x-st fabric, 2 skeins of black floss, & a dyed sock blank for $10. A lovely day! I’ve closed the circle! Gonna get the stuff around the edges & do the owl last. This is a really fun piece to stitch. I’m stitching in hand, using the sewing method. This piece is easy and useful (and forgiving!) to learn how to do this. #CrossStitch #modernFolkEmbroidery

Oh jeez, tonight at book club I referred to a character as someone's “natural" son. Some of the folks weren't 100% sure what that meant. Reading Victorian novels comes back to bit me again. In my defense, “natural son" popped in my mind before “illegitiment son" did. Again, not sure what that says about my vocabulary…

I started using Markup R-XP with my cross stitch. I like it so far. There is a bit of a learning curve. (Almost typed “learning curse” which may also work.) I haven't used it on anything difficult YET, but that's coming in a bit.

I can't believe I'm having to read this dead tree book for mystery book club. I honestly can't remember the last time I read a whole paper book. (Actually it's only been a couple of years, and that was about 2 books.) I just don't read paper books anymore, but I couldn't find an ebook or audiobook of this one (Dead Men Dancing, by Jógvan Isaksen).
