Not gonna lie, I am once again feeling smug that our nascent national soccer leagues (both the Men's #CanPL and Women's #NSL ) are made up entirely of Canadian teams playing here and with requirements to drive domestic talent growth while "Canada's game" (both Men's and Women's) is focused almost entirely on US owned leagues playing with mostly US teams.

RE: https://flipboard.com/@npr/all-things-considered-ji18657oz/-/a-IwF-6QlGTluI1dvA2efvCA%3Aa%3A3195441-%2F0 When I was like 12 years old I recieved my late grandfather's original edition of Len Deighton's Blitzkrieg, which was the start of my interest in history in general and militaria in particular. Kind of surprised he was still alive only 97 in 2026 lol

Loving the accusations that Aston Martin Racing has ruined their relationship with Honda already in like, week two, by throwing them under the bus. The fact of the matter is the engine is garbage. If it was just vibrating too much maybe it would be more the car's fault, but it also literally doesn't generate anything like the power of its competitors. Maybe if Honda doesn't want the relationship ruined they should have made a real engine. #F1

RE: https://flipboard.com/@cbcnews/top-stories-01r3k2ttz/-/a-Y8r9SntSRICO4Sybvxse3Q%3Aa%3A107108217-%2F0 That we continue to let 24 Sussex languish is absurd. It's a publicly owned official residence, it's shameful that we're so reticent to spend a dime on it to make it habitable. I've been impressed with how we've been able to weathe the last year of US economic bullshit, but Canadians are still truly the cheapest/stingiest electorate in western politics

"Kuwait, they had a little mishap. They shot down three planes with our missiles. They happened to be our planes." It's just a little friendly fire incident, it's still good! It's still good!

RE: https://flipboard.com/@bbcnews/politics-oeaorfqgz/-/a-DFTMOyILRQipX5H3Zn8Axg%3Aa%3A3199692-%2F0 It's ALMOST like the US policy on any topic is unstable and easily changeable, dictated by an erratic and probably dementia-addled old man incapable of acting in good faith. And the sooner the British (and EU) governments come to terms with that and stop hoping the old ways of working will just come back, the better for everyone.
