So very, very true! Great post from @kcarruthers@infosec.exchange about the reality of securing AI systems. They do NOT have to be “sentient” in any way at all… they just have to have elevated levels of access. The Skynet / doomer scenario misses the more mundane- and boring - aspect of securing systems of all forms.

@danyork@mastodon.social @kcarruthers@infosec.exchange when i was early in my career, i thought that "boring" was the worst thing in the world. over the years, i have flipped to "boring" as the end goal. it should just do what it's supposed to. no drama. no dumpster fires. no amazing new technology. just works. boring.
