Give him a fully human-style name and surname, like “Dave Smith” or “Paul Wilson” or something like that.

I rescued my cat and his name was Peter Frampton. Adopted two dogs a few years later and named them Jake the Dog and Samantha Carter. Now as a gay millennial couple, with zero desire for kids, we can tell people we have Pete, Sam, and Jake. Everyone just assumes it’s three children. Great excuse for getting out of things early.
