Oh dear … my upstairs neighbour has been pleasant, helpful and above all, QUIET. He is moving out. As I had wondered, he has been unofficially ‘subletting’ from previous tenant, known forever in my mind as Hell-on-wheels. Person moving in is family member of previous tenant. I have encountered them some years previously; I need to give them the benefit of the doubt. Worrying also that previous tenant might be around here more. The prospect is not encouraging. I recall that when my unit was reclassified from community housing to public housing, one of the organisers jokingly said to me, “And may God have mercy on your soul.” It’s a second-cup-of-tea day.
