Do people who have cell phone conversations in speaker mode while in public know we secretly hate them?

@DannyStaley@mastodon.world My late little sister, bless her, had a thing for that. She would carry a cheapy pair of earbuds, packaging unopened, in her bag. If some idiot started playing music from the phone on the bus or the train or doing the "I've got you on speakers because ...", she would go over and politely say "Mate, you seem to have forgotten your headphones. These are spares. Keep them; you're welcome!" On more than one occasion she got a round of applause on the bus from others :-)
