What a surprise today when I went to the compost heap. There was a heap of yesterday's grass clippings which I wanted to distribute a bit in the compost bay. To mutual surprise, I uncovered two tiny grass snakes! I was too slow with the mobile to get both of them. and the photo I got, well. However, I feel incredibly proud that my wife and I created an environment that hosts such amazing wildlife 6 km from the centre of a town of ~90,000 people. #smug #gardening #GrassSnake #NatrixNatrix
