@arianvp@functional.cafe A similar but orthogonal problem from Big Tech regarding languages and videos: I used to be nearly fluent in Spanish but it's atrophied & I have passable tourist-German, but trying to learn more. On some USA streaming services, they geolocate you to USA & *will not* offer the German subtitles when you're in the USA, but will give them to you when you're in Europe. I am trying to watch all TV with German subtitles on, ya'know, TO EXPAND MY HORIZONS & LEARN. 🤬 Big Tech. Cc: @tito@social.sciences.re
