That is an insanely astute description of the feeling. It would make me really indifferent to everything and I was noticeably short with people. It was wild how obvious it was to myself too, and not one of those scenarios where someone else has to finally tell you.

I wasn't even short with people because I just didn't care. Flat affect, indifferent to everything, just going through the motions with that one I tried. For me, methylphenidate makes me more engaged in everything. Not manic or overly emotional, just makes my brain slow down to a speed that lets me consider things which also lets me finish things I start as long as there is time before it wears off. If not, I put it on hold and successfully it up again the next day after the next dose. It also lets me decide to stop thinking about something that is on a loop in my head as long as it is still working!
